The DPV-38N antenna is designed for mobile ground-to-air communication and use in an extreme environment. It consists of two vertically polarized, omni-directional dipole antennas, each covering the frequency range of 225 to 450 MHz. These dipoles are housed in a single polycarbonate radome that provides both mechanical stability and environmental protection. The antenna is provided with a dual coaxial mounting arrangement to enclose the electrical connections away from the environment. Being designed for mobile use, the antenna is base mounted using 4, .438” holes around a 4.5” bolt hole circle (NATO). A spring connects the antenna to the base to protect the antenna from shock and impact with overhead obstructions that may be encountered by the vehicle.
